Types of Room Blocks at Courtyard Minneapolis Downtown

Courtesy Room Block
A courtesy room block is the most commonly selected option for wedding groups. This option allows us to hold up to 15 rooms per night initially, with guests given until four weeks prior to the wedding date to book at the discounted group rate. Any unreserved rooms will be released back to the general inventory at that time, and the group rate will no longer be available. Courtesy blocks carry no financial liability for unused guestrooms. Additionally, the block may be expanded beyond 15 rooms per night based on hotel availability, local demand, and the overall performance of the group block.

Contracted Room Block
A contracted room block is ideal for larger wedding celebrations, particularly when a significant number of guests will be traveling from out of town. This option allows for unlimited guestrooms to be blocked, with guests given until three weeks prior to the wedding date to reserve at the discounted group rate. Any unreserved rooms will be released back to the general inventory at that time, and the group rate will no longer be available. With a contracted block, a minimum of 50% of the reserved rooms must be utilized to avoid financial liability. If fewer than 50% of the blocked rooms are occupied, the difference required to meet the 50% commitment would be the responsibility of the contracting party. Any potential penalty is waived in the event the hotel sells out. The contracted room block may also be expanded beyond the original number of guestrooms, based on hotel availability, local demand, and the performance of the group block.
