Emma Carmichael is a dynamic force in the events industry, serving as the esteemed Catering & Events Manager at the Courtyard Minneapolis Downtown and the East Town Ballroom since November 2023. Originally from the South Metro area, Emma brings a fresh perspective and a wealth of experience to her role. With a passion for curating unforgettable weddings and social gatherings, she approaches each event with unwavering dedication and a keen eye for detail. Her love for event planning shines through in every aspect of her work, from designing event concepts to executing celebrations that exceed client expectations.

Evan Knutson
Executive Chef
Executive Chef Evan Knutson brings passion, creativity, and leadership to the culinary experience at Courtyard Minneapolis Downtown. With an impressive background in Twin Cities hospitality, Chef Evan is dedicated to elevating meetings, weddings, and social gatherings through thoughtful menus and exceptional service.
Most recently serving as Complex Executive Sous Chef for the InterContinental Saint Paul Riverfront and DoubleTree by Hilton Saint Paul, Chef Evan led culinary operations across multiple properties, guiding teams, developing innovative menus, and delivering consistently outstanding dining experiences. Prior to that, he spent over four years at The Marquette Hotel Minneapolis as Executive Sous Chef and Chef de Cuisine, where he oversaw restaurant dining, banquets, catering, and room service operations while collaborating closely with event and sales teams to bring client visions to life.
Known for his collaborative spirit and attention to detail, Chef Evan approaches each event as a unique opportunity to create memorable moments through food. His passion for team development, creative menu design, and genuine hospitality ensures every gathering, from corporate meetings to milestone celebrations, is executed seamlessly.
